Frequently asked questions
How do I check if an article is Scopus indexed?
Enter the article’s DOI or title. The page finds the journal that published it and shows whether that journal is in Scopus, with its CiteScore quartile, along with its Web of Science, ABDC, ABS / AJG, DOAJ, FT50 and UT Dallas 24 status. Scopus indexes journals, so an article counts as Scopus indexed when its journal was covered at the time of publication.
Can I check a whole reference list?
Yes. Paste the reference list into the search box. Each reference is matched to its journal, and the index status of every journal is listed.
What quality checks are run on an article?
Retraction and correction notices from Crossref and OpenAlex, references that were later retracted, tortured phrases in the title and abstract, and citations. These are indicators to look at, not proof of misconduct.
Is the article check free?
Yes. The article check is free to use.
